Tomorrowquest Theatre

Tomorrowquest Theatre is a monthly comedy variety show which happens the last Friday of every month at Art Bar in Columbia, SC. Their monthly shows have been running for almost 8 years. Tomorrowquest Theatre shows are a combination of improv, original sketches, stand up, musical comedy, audience participation games for prizes, and much more.

The group has had many members over the years, with founding members, Topher Riddle, Patrick Fowler, and Joe Coughlin still performing with the group.

Tomorrowquest Theatre has been invited to perform at comedy festivals around the southeast including the Charleston Comedy Festival, North Carolina Comedy Festival, Queen City Comedy Experience, and the Secret City Improv Festival. They’ve also received “honorable mention” several times in the Free Times Best of Columbia annual readers’ poll.

Hailing from Columbia, SC, Joe brings big energy, and exudes warmth to his audiences, exhibiting a rare finesse with material about dark topics—laughing mightily about his struggle takes the sting to a place of insight, healing and awareness. Deeply personal, always poignant, and straight to the point with laughs along the way, Joe is known to leave the crowd in stitches and deeply appreciative of his skill at crafting beautifully timed performances.

Topher Riddle is an actor/comedian who’s been performing stand up comedy for 10 years, eventually becoming a sketch and improv performer with Tomorrowquest Theatre. He’s been a Free Times nominee for best comedian in Columbia, SC multiple times. Topher helped break the world record for longest non-stop stand up show at the Broken Record Show in Nashville and he’s performed in comedy festivals all over the southeast, both as a stand up and with Tomorrowquest Theatre.
